Guidance during pregnancy
Even in the womb, your unborn child is already communicating with you using touch and movement. A healthy childbirth is the result of a full and positive pregnancy experience and preparation for childbirth together with your partner. Placing the hands on the mother’s belly is an inviting type of contact that allows us to communicate with the unborn child. For expectant fathers, this is a beautiful way of establishing first contact with their child and to connect them through the mother’s tummy. In this way, your child will already be accustomed to the way you reach out and to your touch. As a result of the strong bond that this type of intense contact creates, your child will feel welcome and part of a whole. It is that last aspect in particular that plays a key role in the further development of your child.
Our guidance programme focuses on the following aspects:
- Focus on the way the mother carries the child during pregnancy
- Preparing for childbirth
- Info about childbirth
- Absorbing the contractions
- Coping with pain
- Letting go and creating space
- Pushing
- The role of the partner
The sessions are always tailored to the needs and wishes of the client at that time. This programme starts around the 20 th week of the pregnancy and consists of five or six sessions. Ideally, both the mother and partner are present at each session – with a final session with the parents and the newborn after the child is born.
